DarrowBalance, light, space and budget are the four corners underpinning everything I do. My work is distinguished by meticulous attention to detail and appreciation for beauty in all its forms.

My clients value my sensitivity to their specific needs and lifestyles. I strive to make an environment that they will flourish in.

I was born and raised in the West Village in the 1960s. My father was a sculptor and lighting designer, my mother a folk rock/jazz singer. My earliest influences came from modern art and the colorful political times that prevailed. After my first twelve years spent in New York, I went to Barcelona to continue my schooling. There I was exposed to the architectural splendors of Gaudí and spent many hours in museums dedicated to the works of Picasso and Miró.

Upon graduating, I moved to Paris and was fortunate to have a successful career as a model, working with designers such as Kenzo, Dior, and Thierry Mugler. When I put on beautiful couture clothing, my appreciation for fashion, design, and structure was ignited for life.

As I continued to travel throughout Europe, I built an enormous top-of-the-line inventory of vintage clothing, which led me to conceive and design my own store, "Darrow Vintage Clothing & Antiques," in the Flatiron District of New York City. This well-reviewed enterprise lasted five years, during which I shopped for the most discerning vintage mavens- Julia Roberts, modelKate Moss, Iman, and Ralph Lauren.

Costumes for movies and TV shows followed. My passion for period clothing expanded to interiors. From turn of the century to mid-century homes, my quest for era-perfect appointments is ongoing. My projects have been varied; Victorians on the Hudson, a 1920s bungalow in Vermont, Arts and Crafts gardens in Rockland County, and a palatial estate in Seattle.
